Stunning Vang Vieng Exhibition

Vang Vieng is undoubtely one of those amazing cities of Laos. About three hours far away from Vientiane, it is also the place to easily escape the town and go from some fresh air and stunning views.

Last Wednesday was held the premier of Stunning Vang Vieng exhibition: this one gathers photographies from professional and amateurs about this well known city of Vang Vieng, in order to promote the city.

Previous to the exhibition, a photo contest was launched few months ago, including 5 categories:

  • Landscape
  • Local people
  • Local life
  • Tourism
  • Youths

During this inaugurational night, held at the new hotel in town, the Crowne Plaza, the results of the contest have been given to the 5 winners. Each lucky talented candidate won a prize (and what a prize !): two nights stay at Riverside Vang Vieng or at Villa Maly Luang Prabang, as both hotels supported the project.

Not only that, a book is supposed to come out in 2018, including works from those photographers. The project will lead to “the first photography book of Vang Vieng”. Can’t wait to see it !

I am personnally more in of pictures of life scenes, street photographies or portrait – and I actually don’t feel ready for this one yet – but I have to admit Vang Vieng is a very photogenic city ! (sorry, taking pictures of pictures is not the best option to offer to my readers, but … Better than nothing, right ? 😉 ) And if you want to see the exhibition by yourself – definitely worths it – it is on for the few weeks to come, at Crowne Plaza 3rd floor.
